The 2012 annual report entitled “Achieving Impact” highlighted new opportunities to bring Good Shepherd Services’ work to additional New York City neighborhoods. It also reported on the initiation of innovative programs to expand its web of support. Designlounge created a bold and active graphic design to bring attention to the organization’s impact.

Riverdale Country School

— Annual Report 2015–2016
The third annual report of the R+ Capital Campaign, entitled “Purpose”, illustrated the commitment and keen sense of purpose that drives a Riverdale education. The cover image was taken by a Riverdale alumnus, the photographer and artist Clifford Ross, who immersed himself in a roiling ocean in the midst of a hurricane to take images of imposing waves.

National Academy Museum and School

— Gala Invitation Branding
Designlounge worked with the National Academy Museum and School in New York City to create the branding and invitation materials for the institution’s 2016 and 2017 Galas + Auctions, the museum’s annual fundraiser events. We also designed the 2015 National Academician Induction Ceremony event invitation that celebrates American artists and architects since 1825.

Riverdale Country School

— Annual Report 2013–2014
After the conclusion of the two-year quiet phase of Riverdale’s R+ comprehensive seven-year capital campaign, we were asked to design the first campaign annual report entitled “R+ You = a secure future for Riverdale.” We continued to design all annual reports until the end of the incredibly successful campaign.

StoryCorps

— Recording Booth Signage
As part of our identity design work for StoryCorps, a Brooklyn-based organization whose mission it is to record, preserve, and share the stories of Americans from all backgrounds and beliefs, we created the graphics for a recording booth in Lower Manhattan, as well as for a series of Airstream trailers that were retrofitted to function as traveling recording booths.

This annual report highlighted the importance of encouraging all community members—trustees, parents, alumni, faculty, staff, and students—to ask good questions. Questions that continually challenge the community to become better learners and better people. We designed the report by placing the questions front and center.

Disability History Museum

— Identity, Website, Film Identity, Poster
The Disability History Museum is an online experience and website that allows users to search thousands of digital artifacts that document the history of disabilities such as blindness and deafness, and many other forms of physical and mental disabilities. We created the logo identity, designed the website, and designed a related film identity for a Kickstarter campaign.

Revenue Watch Institute

— Annual Report 2011–2012
The annual report entitled “From The Ground Up” focused on the organization’s efforts to support countries that are rich in natural resources through strengthening institutions to be accountable, and to empower citizens to participate in the resource wealth. Powerful images and prominent callouts were incorporated to describe advances as well as problems that governments must confront.

We created a brochure and a series of fact sheets for IPPF/WHR, an organization that promotes the belief that every individual is entitled to quality health care, and a life free of violence and discrimination.

International Center for Transitional Justice (ICTJ)

— Annual Report 2010
This annual report was designed to highlight the five themes of ICTJ’s involvement and expertise in transitional justice: truth-seeking, criminal justice, security sector reform, reparations, memory, and gender justice. In this report we only used impactful black and white photography.

Goodrich Visions

— Identity
Goodrich Visions is a full-service agency that specializes in photo art direction for corporate, fashion, and lifestyle events. The logo we created consists of two words of which one is mirrored to express flexibility and seeing solutions from different angles and sides. The business cards and envelopes were printed on translucent paper stocks to visually enhance the concept of flexibility. An extensive system of adhesive labels enables Goodrich Visions to customize mailings.

Good Shepherd Services

— Annual Report 2011
We designed the annual report for this youth and family services agency in a large tri-fold format and that put program participants front and center. We initiated and art directed the photoshoot with photographer Matthew Septimus to capture the essence of six participants and made the portraits the focus of the report. The descriptions of the achievements and financial data were printed separately and bound into the folded report.

Arts to Grow offered in-depth and hands-on after school art programs for students to work in small groups with professional teaching artists. Designlounge created a fun and creative logo identity to express Arts to Grow’s approach to providing after school arts education classes.

Revenue Watch Institute

— Annual Report 2009
Designlounge worked with the Revenue Watch Institute, now called the Natural Resource Governance Institute (NRGI), to develop its first annual report in 2009, and the second annual report in 2012. NRGI is an independent, globally operating organization, promoting the effective, transparent and accountable management of oil, gas and mineral resources for the public good.
