The Browning School

“Teaching what counts” during the pandemic has been a challenge for the entire Browning School community, but everybody came together to support one another emotionally throughout this turbulent period. We designed the annual report around images that highlighted the community at home and in the school before the pandemic.

Good Shepherd Services asked us to create the organization’s monograph to trace its history and successes.

Haiti Adolescent Girls Network (HAGN)

— Identity
HAGN is dedicated to the empowerment, safety, health, and well-being of girls in Haiti. It envisions a world where adolescent girls are free of violence, discrimination and ill health, a world where girls feel supported, heard and safe, and have the opportunity to reach their full potential. Designlounge was asked to design the visual identity in English and Creole.

International Center for Transitional Justice (ICTJ)

— Identity
“International Center for Transitional Justice” is a long name and “ICTJ” has become the internationally accepted acronym. The logo system needed to be simple and flexible so it could be adapted to work across different languages. We also created the basic stationery system as well as two detailed identity and editorial style guides.

The Browning School

— Buzzer Magazine Winter 2019–2020
The Browning School in Manhattan, founded in 1888, educates boys based on the principle of intellectual accomplishment and ethical integrity, fostering the growth of courageous and compassionate men. Since 1920 the school has published the school magazine Buzzer to communicate community news and achievements. Designlounge was asked to redesign the magazine’s structure and masthead from the ground up.

Good Shepherd Services is a leading youth development and family services agency in New York City that serves over 30,000 program participants a year. We designed a system of services brochures and separate program location maps that were housed in a specifically created pocket folder.

Revenue Watch Institute

— Resource Index Reports
The Resource Governance Index reports communicate the ranking of resource-rich countries in terms of their government efforts to be open and transparent about releasing relevant financial data from the sale of oil, gas, and minerals. In collaboration with RWI, we designed two resource governance index reports as well as supporting fact sheets to report on specific world regions.

Open Society Foundations

— Advertising
For the Open Society Foundations we created an advertisement in English and in Greek to drive attention to a special event at the 2017 Democracy Forum in Athens. Organized by the New York Times and OSF, the ad was placed in the international edition of the NY Times in September 2017.

Guana Island Private Island Resort

— Identity, Branding
Guana Island is a privately owned island resort in the British Virgin Islands. Amidst 850 acres of natural untouched beauty, the resort caters to a maximum of 32 guests at a time. Designlounge worked with the owners to apply the existing logo identity and to create a capabilities brochure, several service brochures, fact sheets for guests, and the website.

We created the 2006–2007 annual report for the ICTJ as a magazine that included different stories laid out with engaging page designs in order to add interest to a field that could be perceived as academic, but that has real-life, real-world effects wherever the organization applies its knowledge and expertise.

The mission of the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai is to dramatically advance the art and science of medical care through intense collaboration, social concern and inquiry. Riverdale Country School

— Annual Report 2014–2015

The third “R+” annual report provided information about the immense generosity of the Riverdale community. The momentum was not only visible through the financial endorsement but also in the expansion of a more global education, which was an important priority of the R+ Campaign. We designed the report “R+ The World” by highlighting Riverdale’s global connections.
