Browning School

Brand Identity

In May 2025, the Browning School opened its new Upper School building on Manhattan’s East Side, just four street blocks from the historic campus that has educated boys from Kindergarten through Grade 12 for generations. With this expansion, Upper School students now have the space to grow and flourish, while the original building is dedicated entirely to the Lower and Middle Schools. This milestone in the School’s history strengthens its ability to provide the very best education for its boys and the broader Browning community.

As part of this undertaking, the School partnered with Designlounge to design a new mark and visual identity that reflects its evolving story: with two impressive buildings, the Browning community is more connected than ever—Two Buildings. One Browning. During the design process, we noticed something remarkable: the School’s two addresses—62nd Street and 64th Street—are not only close to each other on Manhattan’s iconic street grid but also linked by four avenues, two blocks, and six intersections. This connection inspired a compelling visual interplay between the numbers, forming the foundation for a bold and distinctive visual identity.
